THE BENEFITS
Whilst mechanical type electric contacts have been used for many years, they have significant drawbacks, such as:
Being mechanical, they require a degree of torque from the gauge pointer to move and therefore cannot be used on low pressure gauges or many dial thermometers.
e-Gauge is a non contact device and has a very low moment of inertia - it can be used on low pressure gauges, capsule gauges, differential gauges, even some bimetal thermometers!
Fitting the old style mechanical electric contacts requires some degree of alteration to the gauge - such as new dial, front hood, deep case, electrical connection etc..
e-Gauge can be fitted to almost any 100mm DIN cased gauge by just changing the front glass and pointer only.
The old style mechanical electric contacts cause inaccuracies of the gauge.
e-Gauge being non contact has no effect on the accuracy of the gauge.
Mechanical electric contacts are unreliable in vibration applications and are prone to chattering at switch points.
e-Gauge is programmable device and parameters such as deadbands and response time can be programmed to eliminate these problems.
A gauge fitted with mechanical electric contacts cannot be glycerine filled.
A gauge with e-Gauge fitted can still be glycerine filled.

e-Gauge is solid state with no moving parts – its reliable, robust and is now a proven solution to the multitude of problems we have experienced with the old style mechanical type switch contacts.
